Parenting Book Club

Being a parent can be challenging! 

Struggling to balance family, work and life in general?

Does your child have some emotional or behavioral situations that are hard to manage?

Our team of Clinical Therapists and experienced school social workers and are able to provide support to you, so you can best support your child or teen.  Parent support sessions can be helpful in better understanding the "why" beneath behavior, problem solving school concerns, and developing new tools to feel more effective in parenting and to improve relationships.  

We offer sessions in-person or telehealth, daytime and evenings currently available.

  • Empty Nest or Failure to Launch

  • Relationships with Adult Children

Our therapists have training in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Polyvagal Theory and use a variety of treatment approaches to help address your concerns.

Anxious Kids, Anxious Parents Book Club

Parents have the most influence in helping their kids overcome worry and anxiety!  

Become empowered to shift the impact anxiety has over your family, while connecting with like-minded parents, facilitated by therapists that ‘get it’. 

Who: Parents of children that tend to experience anxiety more intensely or more frequently than others their age. 

When: There will be two cohorts offered, time to be determined, daytime or evening options.

  • Tuesdays at via telehealth 

  • Wednesdays at via telehealth

Book club will be held weekly from…

October 1st/October 2nd through November 12th/November 13th - 7 weeks total

 

Weekly meetings will include: 

  • Discussion questions to highlight takeaways from each chapter.

  • Ideas to implement at home right away.

  • Support from other parents going through similar challenges.

  • Supplemental activities and visuals to support your efforts at home. 

Each cohort will be a max of 6 participants

As a book club, this is offered as self-pay only, with a fee of $300 per participant, for the full 7 week club.

Fees will be collected in one installment for a 10% discount = $270 total on Oct 1st. 

OR two installments - $150 on Oct 1st, and $150 on Oct 15th, for a total of $300. 

 

Participants are expected to purchase, on their own, an audio, e-book, or hard copy of Anxious Kids, Anxious Parents by Reid Wilson PhD and Lynn Lyons LICSW, prior to the first club meeting.
