Group Therapy Services

At CORE Connection we offer a variety of group therapy services designed to foster connection, support, and personal growth. Our groups provide a safe and nurturing environment where individuals can share their experiences, learn from one another, and develop valuable skills.

Our therapists work to make sure the group is a good fit for the clients goals and needs and that the group participants will work well together.  

Therapeutic groups may be billable to and covered by insurance while some groups are considered educational groups and are self-pay only.

Types of Therapy Groups

  • Social-Emotional Skills Groups

    Develop and practice new skills with well matched peers. Parents are provided feedback and ideas to apply the skills learned.

  • Neurodivergent Skills Groups

    A safe space for neurodivergent individuals to develop skills and a sense of belonging. Also gain a place for families to connect and share experiences to support each other.

  • Young Adult Therapy Groups

    Tailored for college-aged individuals, these sessions focus on navigating transitions, managing stress, and developing life skills in a supportive environment.

  • Parenting Groups

    Designed for parents seeking guidance and support, we focus on effective parenting strategies, addressing common challenges, and building a supportive community.

Summer Groups 2025

  • Emotion Explorers- CLOSED

    A group for girls ages 8-10 learning to manage school-related and other big feelings. Discover fun ways to understand and cope with disappointment, frustration, and more.

  • Junior High Social Theatre CBT / Mood Regulation Strategies- CLOSED

    Social Theatre utilizes targeted skill improv and collaborative play writing/practice to explore feelings intensity, teach about unhelpful thinking styles and practice mood regulation strategies. Social Thinking®, Neuropsychology and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy concepts are intertwined into group activities.

  • Social CBT

    An 8-week group designed to provide a safe and supportive space for boys ages 7–10 to build emotional regulation and peer relationship skills through engaging, hands-on activities.

    When: Beginning in June on Mondays. Time TBD.

    Group goals:

    ● Increase self-awareness by recognizing and naming their own thoughts, feelings, and physical reactions in different situations.

    ● Strengthen peer connections

    ● Practice calming skills during games, role-plays, and teamwork activities

    ● Build confidence by showing participants they can handle strong feelings in positive ways.

    Group size: 3-6 participants.

    Fees: $60/group, self-pay or in network with BCBS/Aetna

  • Sibling Group

    Having a sibling with special needs comes with unique experiences, emotions, and responsibilities. Sidekicks is a six-week therapy group designed for children in 3rd through 5th grade* to explore their feelings, build coping skills, and connect with others who have similar experiences. Through engaging activities and creative expression, participants will gain a sense of support, empowerment, and connection.

    *Will accept pre-registration for children outside of these age ranges. Therapist will determine via consult call if your child might still be a good fit for this group.

  • Music & Movie Club for Teen Girls

    Group for Teen Girls Level 1 ASD

    Music and Movie Club is designed for Teen girls with ASD level 1, entering Freshman through Junior year of High School. An interest in music or movies is a bonus!

    In this group teens will explore their emotions through music, learn about social skills through movie clips, and have time to connect with same age peers.

    What to expect:

    Fun and interactive activities that encourage self-expression

    Exploration of emotions through all genres of music

    Learning about social skills while utilizing examples of characters within movies

    A safe space to connect and practice social skills with peers who “get it”

    Dates: 6/11, 6/18, 6/25, 7/9, 7/16, 7/23 & 7/30
