Social Theatre Groups

Intermediate Social Theatre 

Social Theatre utilizes targeted skill improv and collaborative play writing/practice to teach and practice social skills. Social Thinking®, Neuropsychology and CBT concepts are intertwined into group activities.


Host: Shawn Amador, LCSW

Who: 3rd through 5th grade children diagnosed with Autism 1, ADHD, and/or anxiety disorders, seeking to improve social skills and feelings identification.

When: Every Saturday (no group Thanksgiving weekend) from mid September, 9-10AM.

Group Size: 4-7 participants. Fee and/or insurance billed: $60/group self-pay or in network with BCBS

Individual intake sessions will be scheduled prior to entering the group, to ensure group goals are a good fit.

Group goals: 

  • Create a space where kids and teens feel comfortable together.

  • Rehearse social behaviors to increase relationships.

  • Learn brainstorming, accepting and building on others ideas.

  • Enhance confidence through feeling validated.

Parent communication and how you will share feedback:

At the end of each session around 9:50/9:55AM, parents will be invited into the group room to discuss with participants what was learned during the session.  Parent questions along with the games learned during sessions will be shared weekly.
