About Jackie:
Jackie works with children ages 10 and up, adolescents, young adults and parents, through individual, group, and parent coaching. She has a particular interest in working with neurodivergent individuals across life stages and transitions. Areas of speciality and expertise include anxiety, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, mood disorders, stress, parent coaching, and school issues. Jackie is passionate about helping her clients build emotional resilience through developing problem solving and coping skills.
Jackie is a licensed clinical social worker, with 13 years of experience in public schools, private practice and home-based services. She has her Professional Educator's License (PEL), school social worker endorsement and earned her Master's degree at the University of Chicago’s Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy and Practice. As a result of Jackie’s years in public schools, she has a comprehensive understanding of educational systems, and can assist parents in understanding and navigating school-based supports, 504 plans and IEPs. Jackie values partnering with parents, schools and other service providers, to create a cohesive support system for the adolescent and the family.
Jackie’s experience and training has guided her therapeutic approaches to include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction for Teens (MBSR-T) , Polyvagal Theory, mindfulness and the Social Thinking™ methodology.
Jackie aims to provide a compassionate, non-judgmental space. Her goal is to empower individuals and families with the tools and insights they need to overcome challenges and thrive. She believes in a strengths-based approach, focusing on what the client can do well and working collaboratively towards identified goals. Jackie is a firm believer in “grow through what you go through” and would love to partner with you in your pursuit of personal growth.
Jackie is a mother to three girls and enjoys time spent with her family, having dance parties, exploring national parks, and watching movies. When not in the therapy office, she can be found running on the fox river and rehabbing her 80-year-old house.
